Partners in life and music, Devon-based duo Harbottle & Jonas are among the most distinctive voices on the UK folk circuit today. Blending the depth and integrity of traditional folk with powerful, original songwriting, they create a sound that feels timeless and vividly alive.
For this special annual full band show at the Barrel House, Dave and Freya are joined by their full ensemble, bringing scale, texture and energy to their songs. The expanded line-up allows their music to open out, rich arrangements, driving rhythms and moments of quiet intensity sitting side by side.
The evening will feature songs from a forthcoming new album alongside much-loved material, as they continue to explore historical and Devon narratives, personal stories and shared human experience. Expect concertina, harmonium, banjo, stomp box, acoustic guitar and cittern, and the addition of guest percussion, fiddle, bass (and trumpet) woven together by their trademark close, expressive vocal harmonies.
